September 2001 was going to be a busy month for our family. We had no idea how it would totally change the direction of our lives.

The morning of the 11th was Keys normal, weather was quiet, the summer season just about over. I got up at the normal time and went downstairs to the office of our Pier 68 home at just about 8.45 hoping to prepare for an end of season boat rental customer. As I did every day, I switched on the weather channel on TV and was surprised when the forcaster ended his report with a dramitic comment, "I dont think you will be watching this today after you find out what is happening in New York."

Quickly changing channels I could see the fire in the east tower, and minutes later watched in horror as the second plane approached and struck the second tower. It seamed like only minutes before the first collapsed, then the second causing a massive cloud of dust, then just rubble.
